The Manhattan Adult ADD Support Group has provided adults with ADD/ADHD in the New York Metro area with support, information, resources & a sense of community since 1992. We are peer led support group.
The Manhattan Adult ADD Support Group is pleased to present the following lecture on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 6:00 PM (NYC time) on Zoom:
ADHD & Autism w/ Susanna Mierau, MD, PhD, clinical and research neurologist.
These days, ADHD and autism are often mentioned in the same breath.
This is true on social media. It's true in newspapers and magazines. And it's also true of the professional literature.
By (formal) definition, ADHD is about attention, or impulse control, or physical self-restraint. Or a relative shortage of these.
While autism can show up as a sensory disorientation; or as a glitch in social interaction; or as a repetitive pattern of speech or behavior.
Why then the convergence? And why the popularity of the term AuDHD, taken to mean the presence of both?
On April 24, hear from a clinician who has worked with both populations, and at the adult level.
